Are individuals from another country coming to WSU/United States to work?

A. What should you do if you are planning on bringing a foreign national to WSU?

Contact the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) at oiss@wsu.edu or visit http://www.ip.wsu.edu/oiss/departments/ . OISS works closely with academic departments and individual faculty to determine the appropriate immigration (visa) category foreign nationals should use to enter the U.S. based on the purpose of their visit to WSU. Advisors and a Faculty Immigration Specialist are available to answer questions departments may have about complex immigration regulations that pertain to international students, scholars and faculty at WSU.

It is essential that WSU departments work closely with OISS as OISS has primary responsibility for ensuring that the University is in compliance with all federal reporting requirements for foreign nationals at WSU. Eligibility for federal grant funds is dependent upon WSU being in compliance with all federal reporting requirements including SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.)
