OGRD ITEMS DISCUSSED:
Introduction of Grant and Contract Specialist (J. Jansen)
Wendy Wikstrom has now joined OGRD as the new Grant and Contract Specialist. She is replacing Brenda Griffin who has taken the recently vacated Grant and Contract Coordinator position. You can reach Wendy at wwikstrom@wsu.edu or 335-1672.
1. Revised Telephone Listing for OGRD Staff. (J. Jansen)
Beginning this April, the OGRD Staff will have the individual's phone contact information on line as well as voice mail information will provide hours of each of the staff and when staff will be out.
2. REVISED (OJP) Financial Guide for Recipients of DOJ Grants and Cooperative Agreements. (J. Jansen)
3. Updated Instructions to the NIH forms (PHS 398) (J. Jansen)
Effective 5/10/05, the mandatory changes the NIH has posted to their website: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-043.html (relates to Mandatory use of New Instructions and Forms for PHS 398 (DHHS Public Health Service Grant Application) and PHS 2590 (DHHS Public Health Service Non-Competing Grant Progress Report)
Changes that have not been followed by the new policies will result in proposals being returned.
4. Office of Research Advisory Sub-Committee Update on Credit Sharing (New REX Form) (D. Nordquist)
For Collaborative and Interdisciplinary proposals, project contribution credit is being evaluated and credit is considered, in part, based on experience, space and management of the research is conducted, and a host of other issues.
Initial discussions are looking at splitting out credit by geographic locations, centers, institutes and labs will be followed. Before credit can be given appropriately, the centers, institutes and labs need to be “approved”.

5. Faculty Development Series (D. Nordquist)
Office of Research is currently working on the new Faculty Development Series in which OGRD will be coordinating. Information regarding the series will be provided in printed publications and posters to be distributed soon. Focus is on sponsored proposal development with some compliance education topics.
6. WSU-F New Reporting Procedures for Private Grants (D. Nordquist)
The WSU Foundation is utilizing the Data Warehouse to report from on all gifts and grants. In coordination with OGRD and SPS, the total commitment/pledge will be reported between currently allocated and restricted to fully disclose the amount of the grant or gift. Expenditures shall be considered pledge payments.
7. Contracting Officer Tip of the Month (Template Agreements at OGRD) (A. Comely)
MTA-Incoming Materials, NDA-Non Disclosure Agreements, SRA-Standard Research Agreement (IP), SA-Standard Agreement (No IP), Subcontract Agree – International and FDP-Standard, Property Loan Agreements, Allocation of Rights, Staff Assignments, Incoming License Agreements, Single Page Agreement, “Draft” Testing Agreement, Right of Entry-(Business Affairs).
