President Rawlins' position is that WSU should not give away ownership to intellectual property through research agreements. (Andrea Comley)
- Update - Mandatory Faculty Training
Mandatory Faculty Training is successful so far. (Andrea Comley)
The Graduate School intends to make the Grad Students take the training beginning next fall. (Kris Boreen)
- OGRD Database Training
Database Training course will be offered each quarter. Registration can be completed at http://www.ogrd.wsu.edu/workshops.asp. (Andrea Comley)
- NIH Announcements
Principal Investigators will no longer be required to sign continuation applications, progress reports, or requests that require pre-approval.
As of May 10, 2006, 398 forms will no longer have a signature box for Principal Investigators. PI's will no longer need to validate an NIH Proposal that has been submitted via Grants.gov.
There will only be the requirement for the PI to review the proposal. If the PI chooses not to review the proposal Commons will finish the validation process after 2 days.

R21/R33 Proposals will be required to be submitted through grants.gov beginning June of 2006. (Jennifer Jansen)
- Grants.gov Proposals
Due to the recent issues with grants.gov and associated electronic websites OGRD requires that proposal that are to be submitted through grants.gov be submitted to OGRD for review 3 business days prior to the grants.gov deadline. (Jennifer Jansen)
- Society of Research Administrators--Portland Meeting
The next Western Section SRA will be held in Portland, Oregon on May 6th through 10th. Registration can be completed at www.srawestern.org (Andrea Comley)
