SPS Items:
-F&A Rate Agreement The new rates begin on 7/1/07 and go through 6/30/10 49.5% Research On Campus, 33% Other Sponsored Activities (OSA) On Campus, 26% off campus rate for both Research and OSA Proposals submitted beginning now should use the new rates if they will be starting after 7/1/07. The Rate agreement is on the SPS website. - Brad Bailey
-Changes to cost share screens in balances The cost share screens in BALANCES now use WSU ID instead of SSN. The Effort Certification Forms will also be using WSU ID beginning with the Fall Effort Period which go out in January. - Nancy McMahon
- Discussion on Request for WSU ID for PI's to be added to Financial Accounting - Dan pointed out that this is not necessary for Credit Sharing. It would also have to be an added field since most of us need to see the name. - Nancy McMahon
-New SPAR draft and updated BPPM Being finalized. Draft form as well as RCAR draft form are attached to January 2007 minutes - Nancy McMahon
-Billing Instructions for new awards in OGRD Database under Billing Instructions log entry, for subcontracts, the sub contract data sheet will be attached instead. The data sheet will be updated under each amendment activity - Nancy McMahon
-RAC meeting dates for next semester The meetings will be the third Friday at 9:10 -Nancy McMahon

-Sponsored Program Administrators One Day Conference Dan Nordquist:
Grant Administration, Doing it Right the First Time Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Best Western University Inn in Moscow , Idaho . Time: 8am-5pm. There will be a recognition luncheon, SPA Service and Contribution Awards to be presented and a reception following the conference, from 5-7pm.
Topics include: Intellectual Property 101, Everyday use of OMB Circular A-21, Roles and Responsibilities of Grants and Contracts and LOTS more!
-Preparing for NIH Electronic Grant Applications Training Dan Nordquist
Two sessions on Wednesday, January 10 th . 3 hour training including a tutorial on how to use grants.gov
-Property Loan Agreements - Dan Nordquist
Anyone who has equipment coming in or borrowing equipment for research, etc. we now have templates for incoming and outgoing property loans. You can find these on the OGRD Webpage
-Safe Harbor/Conflict of Interest - Dan Nordquist
Law that had passed, Executive Policy 27. Conflict of Interest meeting on December 14 th . You can use labs/equipment for personal gain if technological transfer is facilitated (Don't want research to just sit on the shelf). BE CAREFUL doing this. The state wants this and there is a mechanism to manage all of it and make sure this is being done properly and people (students, etc) not affected.

The search is going well. Advertising will begin soon and we are hoping for a March 1 st start date. |
