1. Discuss E-snap and NIH Commons User Guide (J. Jansen)

E-Snap Non Competing Progress Reports can now be submitted to NIH via NIH Commons by all units, departments and colleges. The area administrator and all PI's will need to register on NIH Commons. Send requests to be added to Commons via email to ogrd@wsu.edu . Notification confirming user i.d. will take from 24-48 hrs from NIH. NIH Commons website: https://commons.era.nih.gov/commons/

2. NIH –New Public Access Policy to Publications (D. Nordquist)

New Public Access Policy to Publications Resulting from NIH-funded Research - NIH funded investigators are requested to submit to the NIH National Library of Medicine's (NLM) PubMed Central (PMC) an electronic version of the author's final manuscript upon acceptance for publication, resulting from research supported, in whole or in part, with direct costs from NIH.  Effective May 2, 2005 (NIH Guide, Feb. 3, 2005 http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-022.html )

3. Tip of the Month (Contracting Officer – data sets, rfp's)

When submitting proposal please be aware of publication restrictions that may be included in the proposal terms and conditions prior to notification of award. Terms and conditions can be included and required during the proposal process; items such as Data Sets require a review for possible license requirements and administrative signature. Please be aware and cautious of possible terms and conditions during the proposal process.

4. Western Section of SRA will be held April 28 th -May 4 th , 2005.
